History
Premium Oil was founded by Paul Q. Callister, along with investors, Jack Vincent, Fred C. Staines and the Bamberger Group during the America’s service station boom years, 1925-1932.
The company purchased land throughout Utah and into Idaho and Nevada, and grew to 48 service stations.
In 1944, during World War II, as a result of fuel supplies being rationed, a second company was started called Premoco. This maximized fuel allocations. Today, these two companies remain separate, however operate as one.
Premium Oil continues to be privately owned and operated.
In Premium Oil’s 85 years of operation, the company has witnessed many changes. Our operation evolved from cleaning windshields, properly inflating tires, adding distilled water to batteries, checking the oil and the other countless free services of the 1930s, to full service repair shops in the 1960s, to the introduction of snack foods in the 1980s, evolving into Premium neighborhood convenience stores of today.
Today, Premium Oil operates 13 locations with plans to add 2 additional stations by the end of this year. We continually improve our locations to offer the Premium difference. Each location has state of the art fuel dispensers, well lit exteriors and welcoming convenience stores with clean restrooms.
Inside, you will be greeted by a friendly cashier, there to help you with whatever your needs might be. Our facilities are clean, bright and well stocked. We pride ourselves on having the merchandise you want available to purchase at competitive prices. If we don’t carry it, make a suggestion and we will make every effort to accommodate you.
